When you think of winter, what is the first thing that comes to mind? For my kids, it's snow but this winter...well... snow was a no go. Thank goodness for Bear Creek Mountain Resort being snow place like home and giving us that winter fun we have been craving!
Bear Creek Mountain Resort is located in Macungie, PA and offers a wide range of activities from snow sports to swimming. On our recent trip, we took advantage of the snow sports and we were not disappointed! My 9-year-old decided she wanted to try out snowboarding for the first time. We could have not have been happier with the entire process from rentals to lessons and everything in between. By the end of the day she was taking the lift to the top and heading down the mountain on her own. She not only learned the skills it takes to handle a snowboard but she also developed a new found confidence and love of the sport. She is excited to take advantage of SkiPA's fourth and fifth grades ski free program next year.
While she was in great hands with the snowboarding instructors, I took my 4-year-old over to Bear Creek's Snow Zone so he could have some fun playing in the snow. We had a snowball fight and he rolled down the little hill countless times. He made snow angles and used his imagination as he made snow food for me. He had so much fun in the special area meant for the little ones. That attention to detail and making sure an entire family can have fun is what sets Bear Creek apart.
Bear Creek offers a variety of dining options as well. We took advantage of The Mountain Eatery which is a spacious cafeteria where it is easy to grab a quick and delicious bite before heading back on the mountain. They have plenty of dining options but this one was perfect for us because we wanted to get back out in the snow as soon as possible.
Bear Creek Mountain Resort also boasts a spacious, beautiful, and comfortable lodge where you can escape the cold and enjoy the view. I took advantage of the comfy couches and fireplace with my little guy while my husband and daughter went snow tubing, which happens to be their favorite thing to do together.
Bear Creek's snow tubing is a must! Taking the magic carpet to the top and then speeding down the mountain on their tubes is an incredible experience and rush of fun. My daughter and her friends were racing down the lanes. It is one of our favorite winter activities close to home. Participants must be 6 or older (which is why the little guy and I hung out in the warm lodge) and Bear Creek offers single rider tubes.
Bear Creek offers winter fun for the entire family, is close to home, and offers a beautiful resort hotel (and spa!) if you want to spend more time there. It is one of our favorite winter destinations and we always have Bear Creek gift cards on our gift-giving list. Take advantage of easy rentals, amazing instructors, delicious food, and an incredible amount of fun!
We love that SkiPA offers snow sports for all ages and experience levels all around Pennsylvania. From their Snow Pass for 4th and 5th graders to their deals SkiPA is a valued resource when it comes to skiing and snowboarding in PA.
This trip was hosted by SkiPA and Bear Creek Mountain Resort. Although I was provided experiences all opinions are my own.
