Macaroni Kid Bethlehem's October Bucket List

It's the most wonderful month of the year, and there is so much to do!

September 28, 2021

October is finally here! It's time for all things FALL and there is so much to do in Bethlehem and the surrounding areas. Here's Macaroni Kid Bethlehem's bucket list of things to do this month.

1. Visit a Pumpkin Patch (https://seiplefarms.com, https://hausmanfruitfarm.com)

Hayrides and pumpkin picking and apple cider, oh my! Is there anything that screams "October!" more than visiting a pumpkin patch? The Lehigh Valley has some great options. Seiple Farms and Hausman's Fruit Farm are two of my favorites! Seiple Farms has a great corn maze, a hayride out to a HUGE pumpkin patch, and fun rides for the kids. Hausman's is a smaller family-run farm and you can just feel the love that they put into their property. Both are great for a fun day out with the family! 2. Oktoberfest (https://www.steelstacks.org/festivals/oktoberfest/)

Every year my husband and I ask why this isn't one of the biggest festivals of The Lehigh Valley. It's honestly SO. MUCH. FUN. There's a Weiner dog race and parade, which is already amazing enough to stand on its own. There are also tents of German-style music, vendors, games, and more! We like to take the kids during the day and get a babysitter at night to head back. (October 1st-3rd, 8th-10th)

3. Historic Downtown Bethlehem's Harvest Fest (https://www.facebook.com/events/503455797641299/) I love Main Street in Bethlehem! It's straight out of a Hallmark movie. There are adorable shops, amazing restaurants, and Harvest Fest is a great time to visit. There will be beer and wine tasting, a soup trail (I don't know what that means but it sounds AMAZING), live music, and more. (October 2nd)

4. Take a Haunted Ghost Tour Through Downtown Bethlehem (https://www.facebook.com/MoravianBookShop/)

My husband and I did this years ago before we had kids, and it was so much fun! While I wouldn't suggest this candle-lit tour for young children, it's perfect for older kids, teenagers, or a very different date-night. You will learn fun facts about the ghosts in Bethlehem, and will leave ready for Halloween!
