By Rebecca Seidenberger, Macaroni KID Allentown and Bethlehem July 31, 2024

1- Musikfest

Is it any surprise that the biggest free music festival in the country is topping this week's list? Musikfest is an amazing way to wander around Historic Downtown Bethlehem and enjoy a wide variety of musical acts. You can also enjoy games, crafts, food and beverage stands, vendors, and some serious people watching. (Friday - Sunday, August 2nd - 4th)

2- Stories in the Garden

Here's another fun event taking place in Bethlehem.... Stories in the Garden. This Saturday, join special guest Larissa R. Noto, owner of The Lovely Little Lotus & Kids Yoga Storytime, for a special yoga story time! (Saturday, August 3rd)

3- Another Weekend Full of Live Music

If the crowds at Musikfest aren't your thing, don't worry! There are still options for live music in the Lehigh Valley. This weekend's options include: Catasauqua Summer Concert Series, 2024 Summer Concert Series in the Kutztown Bandshell, and West Park Concert Series. (Friday - Sunday, August 2nd - 4th)

4- Dorney Park

Dorney Park is one of the best theme parks in Pennsylvania, and we have it right here in our backyard. There's something for everyone! Camp Snoopy for the littlest members of your family, rollercoasters and thrill rides for the teens, and a giant waterpark for everyone to cool off. The best part??? Macaroni KID's parent company, CertifiKID has discount tickets. Save money this summer by visiting HERE. (Friday - Sunday, August 2nd - 4th)

5- Family Sundays at the National Museum of Industrial History

If you're looking for a way to beat the heat and stay indoors this weekend, here's a great option. On Sundays, you can visit the National Museum of Industrial History for Family Sundays. During Family Sundays, all youth 12 and under receive free admission when accompanied by a paying adult. Adult admission is $15. In addition, this Sunday will include metal melting for kids. Science, art, and manufacturing come together in these hands-on, kid friendly, demonstrations where participants learn how to prepare sand molds to receive molten tin and create a product to take home. (Sunday, August 4th)
