4- Infinite Moves-Celebrating the limitless expressions of Autism
Celebrating the limitless expressions of Autism through the infinite possibilities of Creative Movement
Infinite Moves is an inclusive movement class series designed for Autistic teenagers and open to all teens. This class celebrates the many unique ways we move, think, and communicate, creating a space where everyone can explore movement in a way that feels authentic to them.
In this series, CMLV aims to foster an environment for mutual understanding amongst neurotypes and create a sense of community for Autistic teens that is available on a consistent basis.
Classes will follow a predictable structure each week to create routine and a sense of safety for everyone present. Some portions of class will be guided, while others will encourage creative exploration of movement inspired by an idea or theme.
In this class, participants can expect to engage in activities with props to assist with body awareness, repetitive rhythmic actions to enhance regulation, and exploring expressive movement and dance-making as a form of communication.
Participants do not need a formal diagnosis to join—self-identification is entirely valid.
CMLV understands that participation may look different for every individual—whether moving actively (independently or with support), observing quietly, or engaging in their own way, all forms of involvement are valued. Observation is recognized as a meaningful form of learning.
Fidgets and noise-canceling headphones will be available for anyone who needs them, and stimming is not only welcomed but encouraged. Caregivers, aides, support staff, and advocates are invited to participate during class in order to learn more about supporting autistic brains and bodies in an accessible and affirming artistic environment. All forms of communication are honored, including spoken words, spelling, gestures, devices, and/or silence. An alternate space will also be available for anyone needing a quieter area to rest or recharge.
Upon registration, CMLV will provide a questionnaire in order to become familiar with each participant’s specific support needs.
At Infinite Moves, every brain & body belongs and every movement is valued. Expression is infinite!
5- The Movies
Want to get outside but it's too cold to go anywhere? Head to the movies! A large tub of popcorn can help cure any winter blues. See Paddington in Peru, or Dogman!
