Feeling Empowered and Dropping Pounds Since I Dropped the Excuses

This article highlights my journey with Jenny Craig for the week of March 8-14

Despite all the excuses I was giving for years, remember these:

"I don't know how to get started."

"I don't have the time."

"I love food too much."

"I can't eat the same bland food day after day."

Today I am preaching that once you drop those excuses you will drop the pounds and feel empowered in the process! Once I committed myself to the idea that it was possible and I could do it I have been an unstoppable force. For three weeks I have been following the Jenny Craig Balanced Menu of 1200 Calories and I am down 6lbs (* Avg. weight loss 1-2 lbs/week for members following the program) while making sure I make more time for physical activity in my day. I have changed the narrative and made myself a priority. 

"So how does this work?", you ask. I meet with my Jenny Craig consultant once a week at a time that is convenient for me (currently evenings after work) and we talk. We talk about struggles during the past week. We talk about things that are coming up and how we can stay strong. She listens, she understands, and she guides. My consultant is there to keep me strong and working toward my goal. We do our weigh-in and look at the upcoming menu. I make adjustments where needed and she grocery shops for me. Yes, you read that correctly, she grocery shops for me right in the Jenny Craig Weight Loss Center! 





We double check everything on the list and package it in bags and I am done. I have my food for the week ready to go. I have a cheerleader in my corner motivating me to stay strong. Most importantly, I have a sense of empowerment that I am working hard and that I am capable of positive change! I can do this! I will do this! You can do this too!

I loss 6lbs in 3 weeks (* Avg. weight loss 1-2 lbs/week for members following the program) eating more than I've eaten in years.  A balanced breakfast, lunch, dinner, and snacks in between. I make time for myself to walk or do yoga a few days a week. My entire mentality has changed since starting the Jenny Craig Program. I am stronger and more confident. Thank you, Jenny Craig.
